Surroundings
Moraira is a fishing village on the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante. Meanwhile, it is also a popular family friendly vacation spot for people who love peace and nature. Moraira lies between the larger towns of Calpe and Denia. In addition, Alicante is located 80 km south and Valencia 100 km north of Moraira. This makes it possible to reach Moraira in about one hour from both airports. It has a lively center and a beautiful harbor, where pleasure yachts are moored. Because the municipality of Teulada, including Moraira, only allows low-rise building and the village is mainly surrounded by private villas and holiday homes, the village has retained its authentic and stylish appearance.
BEACHES
There are several beautiful beaches along the coastline. Most of them lie in a bay and are surrounded by mountainous landscape. There are two beaches in Moraira itself. The blue flag has been awarded to both beaches. An eco-label that is awarded by a non-profit organization Foundation for Environmental Education.
ACTIVITIES
Moraira and its immediate surroundings have plenty of activities to participate, including: hiking, cycling, karting, fishing, diving, tennis and boat rental (including organized boat excursions along the coast). Moraira also has three golf courses.
IN THE AREA
Outside the village are extensive vineyards and beautiful nature. The valley of Guadalest is about 45 minutes drive away. The ride there goes through mountainous landscape with stunning views. In the village itself (Islamic origin) you can still see ruins and castles.
